Tineretului Park (Youth Park) has a surface of 80 ha, on the area borders on the edge of Dimitrie Cantemir Blvd., in the zone called “Complaint Valley” and it is situated very close to downtown.
This green area schema was included into Chart of general urbanistic plan, so far as 1935 year, but its building works started in 1965 and it finished in 1974.

The design project realised by Valentin Donose architect (from Institutul Proiect Bucuresti - Project Institute of Bucharest) is based on the idea of realising a large green area for rest and entertainment purpose, it has adressed to the inhabitants from the South side of the city.
In the park area was built Ioan Kunst Ghermanescu Hall (ancient “Sala Polivalenta” - Polifunction Hall) for cultural events and sportiv competitions.
In this area was built also a big platform on flagstones, decorated by statuary groups, on the purpose to host young people celebrations in open air.
So close to the residential area was organised a large place for children play, rest places and a ship landing place, too. The achitect promotes the idea of creating a large lake with the area of 13 ha, feeding by natural underground sources and also by three islands arrangement (two of them are connected by little bridges to the lake banks); the bridges aspect is in a perfect harmony with the sinuous lake banks line and representing the attractive mark points of the landscape.
agreabile.

By modelling of the ground (because of the significant differences of its altitude in certain points which are arising of 16 m), the mirror of the lake could be displayed, as creating new favorable positions in order to observe the landscape in a panoramic manner.
Due to his ability, the architect has succeeded in doing the main artery to describe a large curve, and the predominant view from entrance position to cross axially a big tank of water on circular shape; this is the focus point also for Politehnica (Polifunction) Hall panoramic view.

The other interesting architectural elements of composition consists of:
A circular place on flagstones, with 200 m diameter which is crossed by internal paved alleys;
The floor level, on curve shape with variable length, is surrounded by alleys with plane-trees, guiding to general paved alley that dominates the panoramic view.
Generally, the composition is interesting for visitors by its particular balance proportion and careful disposal of elements and, in the same time, by its vegetal peisagistic diversity.
