Vivaromania is a collaborative writing project aiming to build the most comprehensive Romania Travel Guide; our mission is to provide free, objective and useful information to our visitors.

When every visitor can edit the same content, it is necessary to establish a few, basic, rules so that Vivaromania can be a useful and objective travel guide:

Search Before You Start a New Article
Before starting a new article first search; if your exact topic already exists and you can improve it, feel free to contribute..

Create a new article
You might know something interesting about a street or a landscape in your city.. Feel free to share your unique knowledge with other users by writing an article.
Don't worry if your writing isn't perfect as other writers will be able to edit and improve your work.

Try to put the information in the right section
The information about a museum should be listed in the "museums" section, the information on a square in the "squares" section and so on.

Improve
We believe that every page could be improved, so feel free to edit any page you find. You don't need to ask anyone for permission.
You should feel free to make dramatic changes to existing articles in the spirit of improvement: but do not delete others' contributions only because you don't agree Respect other people's work and try to integrate your content with the existing one.

Neutral point of view
Please, avoid first-person in the article you are writing; vivaromania wants to be an objective travel guide, not a forum or a collection of personal opinions! So please, avoid expressions like: "I think the best view of the city is..." and try to write your article from a neutral point of view.

Copyedit an article
"Copyediting" means fixing spelling and grammar errors, as well as improving the "tone" of an article.

Guidelines for business owners

Vivaromania exists to help people, not for business promotion. We encourage useful and objective information about shops, restaurants etc , but please remember, our goal is not to make an advertising brochure.

Avoid superlatives (the best, the most fascinating) in descriptions; instead describe why it is so great.

Wrong approach :

"We want our restaurant to be our own first restaurant of choice for its spirited, elegant ambiance, its imaginative, tasty food, and its flawlessly friendly":

Right approach ( informative content)

"Ceramics, carved wooden spoons, masks, stuffed birds, and animal pelts cover the walls while wooly sheepskins cover the chairs. With a menu as Romanian as the decor, the restaurant serves such dishes as tochitura de pui (chicken stew with vegetables) and sarmale (cabbage stuffed with rice, meat, and herbs). Servers wear traditional dress, and musicians play folk tunes each evening ".

Blatant advertising is not welcome, and over competitive acts (like deleting information about rival businesses) is gravely deprecated

Do not add political/religious statements or offensive/non-travel related content
We are not advocating any religion, political philosophy, environmental practice, feminist theory, international language or any other idea, business, or cause
